There is hope on the horizon for residents and visitors wanting to access bus services in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Several companies have applied to the Passenger Transportation Board (PTB) for route changes or new routes that would see more options in the corridor as Greyhound Canada service comes to a halt at the end of the month.

SnowBus has applied to add a summer season operation as well as a stop in Squamish in addition to its current winter service.

WhistlerRides has also applied to add stops to their service in Horseshoe Bay, Squamish and Pemberton, and the owner of Island Connector and BC Connector has applied to add a Vancouver to Whistler run.

Companies must have routes and route changes approved by the PTB and so far no decisions have been announced regarding the Sea to Sky corridor.

Greyhound will cease service in B.C. on October 31st citing a 46% drop in ridership across the Province.
