As the 2018 RBC Granfondo approaches this weekend, changes to speed limits have already occured on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Drivers should be aware that there is a temporary reduction in speed at Porteau Cove to 60 km/h down from 90 km/h. The new limit is in effect now until September 10th and is due to median barriers being removed and temporary barriers installed in preparation for the race.

Many sections of the highway between Horseshoe Bay and Whistler will also see speed limits reduced to 60 km/h during the race on September 8th. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and allow extra time if travelling on Saturday. You should expect possible delays of up to three hours between West Vancouver and Whistler, from 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Event participants will travel over the Lions Gate Bridge, up Taylor Way and Cypress Bowl Road, along the Upper Levels Highway 1 and Highway 99, ending in Whistler.

You can find a full traffic impact guide here.
