This year November 11th falls on a Saturday. Below is a list of ceremonies taking place in the region where the public can pay their respects.

Whistler’s Remembrance Day ceremony will take place in a new location this year. The Cenotaph has been moved from outside of the Fire Hall to Whistler Olympic Plaza near the flag pole. The ceremony will take place at 10:30 am and will include a parade marching from the Ted Nebbeling Bridge to the Cenotaph, readings and a helicopter fly-by.

Squamish’s ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph in Stan Clarke Park in downtown Squamish at 10:45 am. Cleveland Avenue will be closed from Victoria Street to Main Street from 9 am to 1 pm.

In Pemberton a parade will depart the Fire Hall at 10:45 am. The ceremony will take place at 10:55 am at the Royal Canadian Legion on Prospect Street. A light lunch will be served afterwards.

The Lions Bay’s Remembrance Day ceremony will occur at Broughton Hall at 10:15 am. Refreshments will follow.
