A free family friendly tradition since 1983. October 31, 5:30pm – 8pm. Trick-or-Treaters get ready for a howling good time!

Whistler spirit is alive and well in the Tapley’s Neighbourhood! Now celebrating its 41st consecutive year, Tapley’s Neighbourhood will again be the hub of Whistler’s Halloween celebrations on Thursday, October 31 for what has become Whistler’s longest running free community event. Local residents are thrilled to be able to once again pull out all the stops to create a spooky and magical atmosphere to welcome up children and families from 5:30pm to 8pm, which attracts up to 1,000 attendees. A spectacular fireworks show with free hot chocolate will kick off at 7:30pm adjacent to Balsam Park on the lower field of Myrtle Philip Community School generously sponsored by Nesters Market and presented by the Whistler Fire Department. Tapley’s neighbourhood will be closed to traffic from 4pm with trick-or-treating starting from 5:30pm. Parking is limited and attendees are encouraged to take the free ‘Park and Spook’ shuttle, organized by Fastpark and generously supported by BC Transit and the RMOW, which will run between the Marketplace parking lot to Tapley’s from 5:15pm to 8:25pm.

Parking in the Marketplace parking lot will be free from 5pm to 9pm compliments of Marketplace merchants. In celebration of the 41st edition of this community event, the Tapley’s neighbourhood is calling on the generosity of the Whistler community to support the ‘We Scare Hunger’ campaign. Last year, $4,000 in cash donations and 500lbs (227kgs) of non-perishable food donations were gratefully received to support food security programs at the Whistler Food Bank and to get food into the hands and onto the tables of those who need it most in our community.

Residents are asking families and attendees to bring donations (cash and or non-perishable food) for the Food Bank, which can be dropped off at the entrance to Tapley’s. The Whistler Secondary School Leadership Team will return to welcome trick and treaters and collect donations at the entrance to the Tapley’s neighbourhood during the event. Donations can also be made online through Whistler Community Services at https://give-can.keela.co/tapleys-we-scare-hunger-halloween-fundraiser. Collection boxes for candy donations will be set up at local schools, daycares and supermarkets. Please support the Tapleys’ residents to meet the huge demand from trick or treaters by donating candy, especially if you plan to attend with your children. Additional goodies will be generously provided by Nesters, Fresh Street Market, the Grocery Store, the Independent, and Creekside Market.

The Tapley’s Neighbourhood 41st Annual Halloween is generously supported by Nesters Market, the Whistler Fire Association and RCMP, BC Transit, Whistler Marketplace, Fastpark and the RMOW, Pique Newsmagazine, Mountain FM, Whistler Secondary School Leadership Team, and the Whistler Community Foundation, with proceeds supporting the Whistler Food Bank.
