A man from Burnaby needed help from multiple emergency services over the weekend after a fall at Brandywine Fall Provincial Park.

RCMP say they were called to the park on Saturday afternoon and learned that while hiking near the base of the waterfall the 21 year old had began to climb up towards the first observation deck.

During the climb he lost his footing and fell approximately one hundred feet to the rocks below. According to police the man suffered non life threatening, but substantial injuries.

The Burnaby resident required a Search and Rescue helicopter extraction that also involved BC Ambulance, Blackcomb Helicopters, BC Parks and Whistler RCMP as crews helped the man via long line and then via ambulance to hospital.
