A man from Ontario has died in a snowmobile incident near Pemberton.

RCMP say they were alerted to an emergency beacon that was activated on the Pemberton Ice Cap on February 18th at approximately 1:20 p.m.

It is believed the man dropped into a crevasse and was ejected from his sled.

The 32 year old was provided first aid at the scene by friends and then by Pemberton Search and Rescue who transported the man via helicopter to Whistler Health Centre, however he did not survive his injuries.

Police are working with the BC Coroners Service to establish a cause of death, as the investigation continues.
