Taylor Swift’s song “Cruel Summer” has finally reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, four years and two months after it first appeared on the chart in 2019. The track has been back in the top 10 since July, but just last week it had fallen to No. 9, after previously reaching a peak of No. 3. Swift’s Eras Tour concert film likely helped with the rebound, along with a new live version and remix version of the song that dropped last week. It’s Swift’s tenth No. 1 single, putting her in an elite group with some of the biggest names in music history. Drake’s “First Person Shooter,” dropped to No. 8 after debuting at No. 1 last week. Doja Cat’s previous 3-week No. 1, “Paint the Town Red,” is back to No. 2. Bad Bunny has the top album of the week, and all 21 songs from the collection landed in the Hot 100.
