A pilot and their passengers are safe following a helicopter roll-over incident in the Whistler backcountry this week.

RCMP say on February 24th at approximately 12:45pm a helicopter rolled over while landing in the Callaghan northwest of Brandywine Mountain. Blackcomb Helicopters was operating the Bell 407, which was carrying a pilot and five passengers. All were evacuated safely, with only minor injuries.

Those involved were transported to the Whistler Medical Centre for evaluation and later released. The company says their aircraft will be recovered once weather conditions permit the safe removal.

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) is now investigating and Blackcomb Helicopters says they are working closely with the TSB and investigating the incident thoroughly.
