Kids love waking up Easter morning to a basket filled with goodies and a hunt around the house for even more tasty treats!

This year, instead of arming your kiddos with a bountiful amount of sweets that’ll have them bouncing off the walls, try some of our favourite sugar free alternatives and cut down on the candy without cutting down on the fun!

Basket stuffers:

  • Spring + summer clothing and accessories including swim suits, sandals, hats or sunglasses
  • Equipment for spring + summer outdoor activities such as a butterfly net, baseball and glove, soccer ball, beach ball, skipping rope or Frisbee
  • If you have a kiddo with a green-thumb, you can add gardening tools and seeds so they can plant their own garden
  • For the young chef in your house, create a baking themed basket with kid friendly utensils and baking ingredients for a treat you know they’ll love

Egg fillers:

  • Stickers and temporary tattoos
  • Puzzle pieces
  • Small toys such as toy cars, Shopkins or Num Noms. You can buy these in packages of multiples and split them up.
  • For the builder in the house, get creative by leaving a Lego instruction booklet in their basket and filling the eggs with the pieces in the set
  • Play Doh, slime, clay or putty (you may need larger sized plastic eggs to make the containers fit)
  • If you have tots learning the alphabet, fill their eggs with magnetic letters that they can stick on the fridge.
  • Small containers of bubbles
  • Hair accessories including fun clips, elastics and bows
  • Small jewellery pieces or charms
  • Age-friendly cosmetics such as lip balm or nail polish
  • If all else fails, put coins in the eggs and they can add up their findings along the way and dream of how they’ll spend their treasure!

Happy Easter, and happy hunting!
