Ultrasound services have been expanded at Squamish General Hospital thanks to a donation from the Squamish Hospital Foundation, Squamish General Hospital Auxiliary and a partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health.

Two new ultrasound machines have been purchased, which will increase the types of diagnostic imaging that can be undertaken locally – from pre-natal ultrasounds to echo-cardiograms.

Donations from the Dr. Kindree Memorial Golf Tournament in 2018 were also used to purchase the machines, and was the fundraising goal for last year’s tournament.

Items also purchased thanks to the golf tournament include $10,000 for equipment at Hilltop House allowing safe transfer of residents from bed to chair and equipment for ensuring a level of comfort and protection from skin breakdown, $1,4000 for a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, $1,300 towards a breast pup for the maternity ward and $4,000 in nurse education.
