The 37th annual Community Christmas Care in Squamish is full steam ahead for 2017.

The charity that distributes food and toy hampers each Christmas was worried they may not be able to find warehouse space this year following the loss of their previous space that was no longer available. The warehouse is needed to assemble more than 400 hampers before being distributed to the community.

Community Christmas Care Director Darcy Reimer says Garibaldi Storage Co. have lent their building to the cause, and that it is the best warehouse they have had in years. Staff from the company are also keen to help with the event.

The organisation says applications are now being accepted for the Christmas hampers. Applications are available at community churches, The Mini Flea Market, Coast Garibaldi Health, Howe Sound Women’s Centre, Sea to Sky Community Services and Squamish Helping Hands Society. An online form is also available here.

The Mountain FM Squamish Christmas Food & Toy Drive is taking place this year on December 5th at McDonalds with donations going to Community Christmas Care.
