Police in Whistler are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a man that stole a bike in Whistler Village recently.

RCMP say shortly after midnight on July 27th a bike was stolen from Skier’s Plaza in Whistler Village. CCTV captured a male described as 5’10” with a slim build wearing a blue hat and black shorts. The man used bolt cutters on the lock and took the bike away. A photo of the suspect can be seen above.

The stolen bike is described as a red/black men’s Giant Glory valued at $7,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whistler RCMP on 604-392-3044.

Police have received a number of bike theft complaints, some of the bikes were of great value and left either insecure and/or poorly secured. Whistler RCMP wants to remind the public to properly secure bikes, and keep a photo of the bike handy. It’s also advised that you record the bike’s serial number.
