The Village of Lions Bay (The Village) is following in Whistler’s footsteps and making changes to parking rules this summer.

Peak period parking will be trialed for 10 weeks beginning July 5th at Lions Bay Beach Park, Kelvin Grove Beach Park and Sunset Trailhead. The changes come after the 2016 Parking Survey showed residents wanted the community to be more welcoming to visitors by increasing parking opportunities.

Lions Bay residents will be able to park free at Sunset Trailhead and Kelvin Grove Beach Park however Lions Bay Beach Park will be paid parking for all. Residents are encouraged to use resident-only street parking. The cost for visitors will be $1 per hour at the lots, except Lions Bay Beach Park which will be $2 per hour. Guest and contractor permits will be available.

Precise Park Link will operate the lots and users will be able to pay with cash, credit card or via the TelePark smartphone app. The Village says that analysis of the trial will be shared with residents at it’s conclusion.
