The Squamish Montessori Elementary Society has signed an agreement with Skyridge and Diamond Head Development to obtain a parcel of land to design and build a new school according to a news release.

Construction of the Skyridge Development is currently underway, with construction on the new school expected to begin early in the new year. The Skyridge development is a 20 acre master planned community that includes single family homes, duplexes, townhouses and Skysuites Condominiums. The school would be located on a designated site within the development.

The Squamish Montessori Society recently received a Ministry of Children and Families Capital Funding grant for the provision of new childcare spaces. a|k|a architecture + design inc have been named as architects for the 12,000 square foot project that will house 165 students.
